How do I best view these pages?

These pages are best viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, Netscape Navigator 4. 0 or higher, Mozilla 1.2.1 or higher, Firefox, and Opera 5.0 or higher.

How do I find information on a specific topic?

To find information on a specific topic, the first step would be to check for the topic in our Keyword Index or our Disciplinary Index. If you cannot find the topic there, try entering it in the search field on our Search Engine.

How do I request additional information on a topic that doesn't appear on our site?

All of the information we have is included on the site. In that sense, it is truly an "online" ethics center. However, if you have questions about any of the material, or would like advice on where to turn for further information on a certain topic, you can E-mail us. We can't make any promises about being able to provide additional information, but we will try to respond to your questions in a timely manner.

How do I interact with multimedia presentations on this site?

Short audio files will appear in the Ethics Center in the form of .au files. These sound files are suited for the Web because of their small size and compatibility. In addition, small video clips may appear throughout the Ethics Center in the form of .mov files, also known as QuickTime video clips, as well as streaming video in the form of .rm files, known as RealMedia. In order to listen to and view these multimedia presentations, you will need some type of helper application installed for your browser. The Real Player, a free application from Real Networks, handles all the multimedia file types used on this site and is available for PC (Windows), Macintosh, and many Unix platforms. For information on setting up helper applications, refer to your browser's documentation.

How do I interact with Acrobat Files in PDF Format?

Utilizing Adobe's Acrobat technology, the Online Ethics Center occasionally offers Acrobat files in Portable Document Format (PDF) throughout its pages. This technology enables us to present documents with any font, color, text, graphics, and layout combination we desire -- it frees us from the constraints imposed by Web design considerations and HTML programming. Adobe has made its Acrobat Reader software package, which translates and displays PDF files, available free to the Web community for any computer platform. Please visit Adobe's Acrobat Web Page for information on downloading and configuring Acrobat Reader.

How do I report a broken link?

To report a broken link, please e-mail the and please include the URL of the page the link occurs on, the link's URL itself, and something like "broken link" in the E-mail subject line.
